Schedule: Thursday nights

On Thursday evenings a free jam session is held in the basement of the Old-Time Music Heritage Hall in Mount Airy. This jam features the skills and talents of a group of older musicians from Mount Airy. While the gathering of old-timers is happening indoors‚ another less-formal gathering of younger musicians takes place out in the adjacent courtyard and parking area. The out-of-doors component is an open jam‚ mostly bluegrass‚ and anyone who wants to can join in.

Directions: Take Highway 52 until it intersects with Highway 601. Take Highway 601 north‚ which turns into Rockford Street. At the second traffic light‚ you will see the Andy Griffith Playhouse on your left. Turn left into parking lot.
