The D.R. Music Center in Vinton‚ Virginia‚ is not just a regular music store--it is a music store with a food counter. Although there is no regularly scheduled jam session here‚ owner Donnie Wray says that you never know when a jam will happen. The D.R. Music Center specializes in offering music lessons‚ selling instruments‚ repairing instruments‚ and serving up hot dogs and soft drinks. Wray explains that several years ago a storm blew the siding off the building the Music Center is housed in‚ allowing the old White Front Pharmacy advertisement to show. Throughout the day people were stopping in to see if the Wrays had reopened the old food counter there. This gave the Wrays the idea to bring back the old food counter‚ and they did just that. The place is family oriented and brings back lots of memories of how things used to be. The D.R. Music Center is a great place to hear some good picking and enjoy a hot dog at the same time.

Directions: From Interstate 581 take the Elm Avenue Exit. Coming into Vinton take a left onto Pollard Street. Continue on to the one stoplight in downtown Vinton and the D.R. Music Center will be on the corner.
