Entertainment is the main event at the Bryson City Bluegrass and Old-Time Fiddlers’ Convention. Held at Darnell Farms‚ the fiddlers’ convention features both adult and junior individual and band competitions. This festival is based on the preservation of old-time mountain music; part of the proceeds from the fiddlers’ convention are used to help provide scholarships for young people interested in learning how to play music. Also‚ mountain crafts are an important part of the festival and plenty of food and consessions will be available.

Directions: From Sylva take Hwy. 74 toward Bryson City. Take Exit 69‚ the Hyatt Creek Rd exit‚ and bear right at the yield sign and then take the first left‚ Walker Woody Rd. Travel 2 miles to stopsign and turn to the right. Go over the bridge crossing the Tuckasegee River‚ and Darnell Farms will be on the right. If you have trouble just ask anybody and they will be able to help you. For additional help with directions call Darnell Farms at 828-488-2376.
