Schedule: Every other Saturday from mid-May through October

These outdoor jam sessions feature regional musicians playing bluegrass‚ old-time‚ and gospel music. Visitors are welcome to join in. The jams are free and are held every other Saturday night from mid-May through October. There is plenty of parking‚ a covered stage‚ and a sound system. Admission is free‚ and refreshments are served. No alcohol at the location‚ please. This campground is also the site of various gospel sings‚ family reunions‚ and other community events where traditional music may be a component.

Directions: From Highway 226 north or south‚ take Highway 261 north. Travel 6 miles north of Bakersville toward Roan Mountain. Look for the "old rock school building" on the left. The Five Oaks Campground is on the school grounds.
