Schedule: Third Saturday of April

Begun in 1985‚ this convention has become a favorite among bluegrass fans and musicians alike. The convention is held annually on the third Saturday in April at the Yadkinville Elementary School multipurpose center and is sponsored by the Yadkin Arts Council. Competition begins at 5 pm. The contest features local and regional talent. Winners are determined by a panel of judges who are knowledgeable in the area of bluegrass music. Bands are judged on items such as timing‚ choice of material‚ accuracy‚ and appearance. Prizes are awarded to the top five bluegrass bands as well as to the top three finishers in each of the following categories: vocal groups‚ fiddle‚ banjo‚ mandolin‚ lead guitar‚ rhythm guitar‚ acoustic bass‚ dobro‚ lead vocal‚ and young talent.

Directions: Take US Highway 601 south to Yadkinville. When you reach the traffic light‚ continue approximately three-fourths of a mile to the Yadkinville Elementary School.
