Floyd Country Store Jam Sessions Schedule: Friday night jamboree‚ Saturday night concerts

Weekly jamboree are held every Friday night at the Floyd Country Store‚ and bluegrass concerts are staged periodically on Saturday nights. These events are worthy tributes to old-time and bluegrass music and to mountain dance. Many of those who attend the Friday Night Jamboree are regulars‚ but the Jamboree also gets visitors every week from across the country. The Friday evening jam sessions begin with an hour of gospel music performed by a group of local old-timers‚ and then various bands take turns playing onstage. Often musicians jam in the parking lot‚ and the audience sometimes flows over into the street on summer nights. Snacks‚ soft drinks‚ and ice cream are available at the store‚ and a very good hometown restaurant can be found right around the corner. Other musical events going on in Floyd include various musical acts at Oddfella’s Cantina.

Directions: From Roanoke go west on US 221‚ from Hillsville go east on US 221‚ from Christiansburg go south on Route 8‚ from Stuart go north on Route 8. The store is half a block from the stoplight in town at the Courthouse‚ on South Locust Street.
