Schedule: First Saturday of the month‚ October through December

On the first Saturday evening of each month(from October through December and February through May)‚ The Old-Time Music and Dance Group’s Traditional Southern Mountain Square Dance gets underway. This well-attended and popular monthly celebration features live traditional music and a skilled dance caller‚ one who really gets the dancers moving. The callers teach each dance‚ so you do not need to have experience in dancing. (There are even dancing instructions on the event’s website!) Nor do you need to bring a partner with you. Going on since 1981‚ this event is a classic.
