Schedule: Every Wednesday night

The weekly jam session at the Mill Mountain Coffee Shop on Market Square is a good one. Participating musicians form a large circle in the back of the shop using fifteen or twenty café-style chairs. The circle grows larger and larger as the evening progresses‚ and during the height of the evening there may be as many as 25 players‚ ranging in age from teenagers to seniors. Everyone plays in unison‚ but the veteran musicians take the lead. It is a lively session‚ and the regulars are welcoming‚ agreeable‚ and enthusiastic. The freshly roasted coffee served at the Mill Mountain Coffee Shop goes very well with the enjoyable old-time mountain music.

Directions: Follow the signs for Center in the Square‚ which are located on Campbell Avenue. Mill Mountain Coffee is about half a block further east on Campbell Avenue.
